BALLINASLOE ACTIVE TRAVEL SCHEME

1/2

Client: Galway County Council

Date:  2024

Collaborators:  Galway County Council, National Transport Authority

Project Details:

The Active Travel Enhancement project proposes the creation of safe, accessible and connected walking and cycling routes that improve permeability and strengthen links between key destinations. Extending through Ballinasloe and County Roscommon, the project upgrades existing road corridors to provide dedicated facilities for pedestrians and cyclists, integrating with existing and planned active travel infrastructure. By prioritising sustainable transport, improving safety and enhancing connectivity between residential areas, the town centre and local amenities, the project supports healthier lifestyles, reduces reliance on private vehicles and contributes to a more accessible and resilient public realm.
