The Ballyhaunis town strategy is founded on celebrating the town's rich heritage, cultural diversity and role as a vibrant regional centre, while enhancing the quality of its public spaces for residents, businesses and visitors. Building on Ballyhaunis' historic streetscape and strong community identity, the strategy seeks to create a more connected, welcoming and attractive town centre that supports sustainable growth and encourages people to live, work and spend time in the town. Public realm improvements, enhanced pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, increased planting and biodiversity, and the creation of inviting civic spaces will reinforce Ballyhaunis as a thriving destination. Reflecting the town's multicultural population and proud history, the strategy aims to strengthen local identity while creating an inclusive, resilient and future-focused place that supports community wellbeing, economic vitality and environmental sustainability.
