The Cong- Lisloughrey amenity trail aims to strengthen the connection between Cong Village and its surrounding landscape by creating an accessible, high-quality trail that celebrates the area's exceptional natural beauty and rich heritage. Linking the historic village with Lisloughrey, woodland, lakeshore and key cultural landmarks, the trail will encourage visitors to explore beyond the village centre while supporting recreation, biodiversity and wellbeing. Sensitive landscape enhancements, including improved pathways, seating, wayfinding and native planting, will create an immersive experience that respects the area's ecological and historical significance. The strategy will reinforce Cong's unique relationship with its landscape, promoting sustainable tourism while providing a valuable amenity for both residents and visitors.
